This well crafted looking adamantine longsword belies it’s true power. A weapon meant to be gifted freely, it bursts into harmless flames when first wielded by a good creature if it is not attuned to them, a trait the attuned wielder can will into being with a thought.

If you aren't attuned to Embercleave, you deal an extra 1d6 fire damage when you hit with the weapon and may make a second attack with it if you would normally only make one.

Increased Potency. While you are attuned to this weapon, it gains a +1 bonus to attack rolls and damage rolls, deals an extra 2d6 fire damage on a hit (instead of 1d6), and you may make one additional attack with it when you take the attack action no matter how many attacks you could normally make.

Trampling. While you are attuned to the weapon, if you reduce a creature to 0 hit points with Embercleave, any remaining damage over what reduced the creature to 0 hit points may be dealt to another creature within 5 feet of the target as fire damage, if this fire damage reduces a creature to 0 hit points you may continue to carry this damage to another creature within 5 feet of that one until there is no remaining damage.
