Weapon (longsword), very rare (requires attunement)

This rather slim long sword looks rather dull and deceptively mundane. Along the shaft of the blade are holes of various sizes that cause the blade to hum and whilst as it is swung. 

You must be a College of whispers bard to attune to this weapon, if you attempt to attune and do not meet this condition you take 4d6 psychic damage and remain attuned.

This is a +2 long sword, while attuned to The Silent Hymn you gain the following benefits and abilities.

  • Piano: You may expend a bardic inspiration dice to remove the verbal component of a spell you are casting
  • Discord: When you use your Psychic Blades feature, the enemy struck suffers disadvantage on attack rolls, saving throws or ability checks (your choice) until the end of you next turn.
  • Harmonise: As an Action, you may create a telepathic link with any willing creature you can see within 30ft. This link allows you to speak to each other telepathically while you are on the same plane of existence. This link lasts until you take a long rest or use this feature again. 

Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
