Weapon (battleaxe), artifact (requires attunement)

This tool of destruction was forged by two legendary dwarven brothers in a faraway land and is said to have been wielded by a god.

You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. Additionally, all attacks made with this weapon deal an extra 2d6 cold damage. 

Random Properties. The axe has the following randomly determined properties:

  • 2 minor beneficial properties
  • 1 major beneficial property
  • 2 minor detrimental properties

Blessing of the War God (requires Attunement). This battleaxe has the Thrown property, with a throwing range of 20/60. As long as this weapon is within 100 feet of you, you can use a bonus action to recall the Leviathan Axe, forcing it to fly back into your hand in the most direct way possible, avoiding walls and other obstacles, but cleaving through any creatures in the path. Any creature standing in the Leviathan Axe's path must succeed on a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw or suffer damage as if struck by an attack with the axe. 

When you hit a creature with a ranged attack using this weapon, you can force the axe to get stuck in the creature to cover it in frost. A thus frozen target is petrified (see the condition) as long as the axe remains stuck. At the end of each of the frozen target's turns it can attempt a DC 15 constitution saving throw, ending the condition on a success, forcing the axe to drop to the floor.

Frozen Aura. While attuned to this weapon, you can create an aura of freezing cold around you (no action required to activate or deactivate the aura). While the aura is active you gain resistance to cold and fire damage. Additionally, every creature within a 5 foot radius takes 2d4 cold damage at the start of their turn.

Proficiency with a Battleaxe allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Topple. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can force the creature to make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 plus the ability modifier used to make the attack roll and your Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, the creature has the Prone condition.
