Staff (quarterstaff), legendary (requires attunement by a Monk, Druid)

This weapon is indestructible by any non-magical means.

You have a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

Stored Special Spell:

This magic quarterstaff allows you to, once per day, cast a modified version of the Polymorph spell:

- It can only be cast on the caster (someone attuned to the quarterstaff itself).
- The selected shape can only be a primate (The same CR limitations of the original spell remain valid)
- The caster's gear melds into the new form. The creature can't activate, use, wield, or otherwise benefit from any of its Equipment. With the exception of the quarterstaff itself, which remains on the caster's polymorphed hands. The selected primate is able to use the quarterstaff (without proficiency, you can choose between Strength and Dexterity for the attack and damage rolls) along with all of its special actions.

Staff Length changing actions

Extend: As a Bonus Action, you can speak your command word to make the quarterstaff extend in length, increasing its effective melee range to 10ft for 1 minute.

Retract: As a Bonus Action, you can speak your command word to make the quarterstaff retract in length, making it a Mace+2 for 1 minute, freeing up one of your hands.

The staff's length can be changed between any two possible states with the bonus actions above. The three states are Extended Length, Normal Quarterstaff Length and Retracted Length.

Once extended, you can use the following special actions:

Somersault: As a Bonus Action, if you already ran for 15ft before taking this action during this turn, you can use your extended staff to elastically cause you to jump up to a height of 15ft and up to a distance of 30ft. You do not take any falling damage. You can take the Helicopter Twirl action mid-jump (after travelling 15 horizontal feet), start hovering at a height of 15ft and keep travelling the remaining 15 horizontal feet at that height.

Vertical Jump: As a Bonus Action, you perch yourself with both feet diagonally on the length of the quarterstaff and, causing it to extend instantaneously, you rise 20ft into the air. This jump does not trigger opportunity attacks.

Helicopter Twirl: As an Action, you twirl the staff above your head in a helicopter-like fashion and hover. You gain a flying speed equal to half your normal movement speed (round down). As long as you maintain concentration (as if you were casting a spell) and you don't take other actions requiring you to use your hands, every round, enemies within melee range in the same horizontal plane as you must make a Dex Saving throw (DC equal to your Spellcasting DC) and take 3d8 bludgeoning damage on a failure.  If you lose your concentration or take another action requiring your hands, this effect stops and you fall normally.

Once retracted, you can use the following special action:

Push: As a Bonus Action, you point the retracted end of the staff at an enemy within melee range and, speaking your command word, you cause the staff to magically and instantaneously extend to its fully extended length. The target must make a Strength Saving Throw and, on a failure, takes 2d8 bludgeoning damage and is pushed 10ft away. On a success, it takes half as much damage and is pushed only 5ft away.

Proficiency with a Quarterstaff allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Topple. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can force the creature to make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 plus the ability modifier used to make the attack roll and your Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, the creature has the Prone condition.

Notes: Bonus: Magic, Monk, Druid, Damage, Combat, Versatile, Topple
