Ring, artifact (requires attunement by a Requires 1 Attunement Slot)

The ring, you see before you once belonged to the Nazgul known as the Shadow Lord. The Shadow Lord was once the king of a small and insignificant kingdom. When Sauron offered him one of the Nine Rings, the promise of its power proved irresistible. His physical being decayed away leaving a husk left behind, and his will was enslaved to Sauron, the Shadow Lord wore his dark pride like a cloak. The origin of this ring's inception goes back to the second age before Sauron was known as the great betrayer. Sauron forged this along with the legendary smith Celebrimbor who was enslaved. After the completion of the rings' were forged they were all sent out into the world and offered to all of the rulers of middle earth. Sauron's created the rings to have total clarity as to what any ring bearer thought at any given moment. To anyone who accepted the gifts would later have an immense fortune in a multitude of different ways such as wealth, fame, glory, status, and power beyond their wildest dreams. The rings' also granted special powers that varied upon what ring was given. There was also an intended hidden effect that would poison the wearer's mind by making them exceedingly irrational over time and picking apart their will. This effect later often had the result of crumbling many kingdoms and warping the ring bearers' very essence. This sick perversion of warping a person's essence overtime transforms them into what is commonly known as a Nazgul.

Abilities for The Ring of The Shadow Lord (10 Charges Total):

Shadow Dance (2 Charges): As a reaction whenever you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, you instead take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, and only half damage if you fail. Your body turns semi-gaseous like thick black smoke and the light around you distorts pushing away light. Within 5 ft of you, bright light turns to dim and dim to dark.

Revenant Split (3 Charges): Anytime you make a weapon attack you can create two shadow copies that will attack simultaneously with you. Any attack made during a single attack action is made with advantage. Additionally, the total end damage is tripled.

Blackout (2 Charges): As a bonus action ou absorb all light within a 15 ft radius. All light sources are snuffed out and no longer produce light. No amount of magic can dispel this darkness for any reason. Even creatures with true sight and devil's sight can't see through this pure darkness. The ring bearer has advantage on any creature caught inside the Blackout effect. Blackout lasts for three rounds or until it is removed from the ring bearer.

Phantom Shift (1 Charge): As a bonus action you can turn into a shadow form and phase through any object up to 30 ft. While in your shadow form you ignore all environmental hazards and physical objects that might otherwise block or hinder your movement. If you end your turn inside another object you will need to make a DC 10 DEX saving throw. On a successful save you are pushed out 5 ft from the object. On a failed save you take 1d6 force damage and are knocked prone 5 ft away from the object.

Passive: The ring allows for the wearer to see into the astral plane at any time.

Corruption:

After every day the ring is worn or if you attempted to remove the ring you must succeed a DC 16 WIS saving throw. On a successful save nothing happens. On a failed save the bearer will receive one point towards total corruption. Every level of corruption makes it tougher to take the ring off by raising the DC WIS save by 2. After 7 total fails the bearer becomes insane and their will is completely destroyed. They will assume the role of a Nazgul and fight only for their new master, Sauron.

Failed Corruption Table:

1. Bloodlust - You go out of your way to deliver more pain and suffering.

2. Irritability - You become increasingly irritable with others.

3. Paranoia - You develop paranoia that everyone around you is trying to steal the ring and stab you in the back.

4. Shifting Alignment - Your alignment shifts to evil.

5. Extreme Psychosis - Your mental state is in constant chaos with never-ending horror-stricken screams. No matter the circumstance you will defend the ring at all costs. You have disadvantage on all INT saving throws or ability checks.

6. Murdeous Obsession - Your need to slay the blood of living creatures is insatiable. You will seek to slay any creature you come into contact with in spite of any previous relation or bond you used to share with them.

7. Soulless - You are permanently transformed into a Nazgul and no longer carry any memories of your former life and connections. Once transformed you only serve your one true master and obey his every order. Your true master is the dark lord himself, Sauron.
