Yajlib Alsalam is older than time. It has worn many forms but always its spirit remains the same. It is the bringer of peace. It quiets the minds of the violent and warmongering. It can overthrow the rage and wrath of even the fiercest warrior in battle. It is a two edged sword though and can harm the wielder if they cannot bare its power. It can even kill you. It requires courage and true intentions to meld with the ancient metal's spirit and call forth its incredible psychic power. If it discovers you have deceived it, or finds your use of its power to be evil...it will attack the weilder.
This strange and ancient artifact has been hidden throughout the ages at various times in various places. It now wears the shape of a shield. Unadorned and without ornament, the shield appears mundane except for a single, hair thin circle of colored metal that looks like it was inlaid into the shield somehow. What type of metal you cannot tell but it catches the light differently as you hold it. The shield is round in shape and has the standard leather straps inside you are used to seeing in a well used, and well worn shield.
Attunement to this artifact is difficult and must be maintained to use it each day. Once attuned, any creature within range 160 ft has to make a Wisdom Saving Throw DC 16 or be Charmed. 160-300 ft make a wisdom saving throw DC 12.
Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
Notes: Advantage: Perception, Advantage: Persuasion, Charmed, Yajlib Alsalam is sentient. You must commune with it and convince it your motives are true, and not self serving, but for the greater good. Must Succeed on an appropirate skill check DC 18 (and RP) to convince the shield. If you fail 3 times it does 30 psychic damage on the 3rd failed attempt.
