This small spyglass is made from 3 telescoping, polished brass exterior tubes and 3 crystal lenses within. The brass outside is faintly etched with waves, wind, and other natural effects that seem to shift slightly. Along the rim of the largest segment, an inscription reads, "Though your spyglass may roam, you can always find home."
The spyglass is 10 inches long when extended, 4 inches long when retracted, and 3 inches in diameter at its widest point. Its weight is negligible. It is considered a magic item.
When you look through this spyglass, any Wisdom (Perception) or Intelligence (Investigation) checks made on distant targets or locations that rely on sight have a +2 bonus. Additionally, as a bonus action, the rim holding the inscription is in fact a dial that can be rotated. When rotated, instead of the spyglass providing the aforementioned effect, looking through the spyglass allows you to see another place, as if using the Scrying spell. In this case, the only place the spyglass can see is the Sea Folk ship Aurelio. Looking through the spyglass with the dial rotated creates an invisible sensor around the Aurelio. You can move the sensor at will to any point within 10 feet of part of the ship, and you see everything in real time, as if you were there. You can only see within 10 feet of any part of the ship. Beyond that, there is a border of white fog that cannot be seen through. An effect that allows a creature to see invisible things would be able to see the sensor, in the form of a tiny spectral spyglass floating around the ship. The etchings of weather on the brass on the outside of the spyglass match the weather that the Aurelio is sailing in. If the ship is in a storm, a tempest brews on the brass. If the ship is in port, docks are visible in the sheen of the exterior. And so forth.
The sensor that the spyglass creates can be dispelled. If this happens, the outermost lens becomes clouded with a dark grey color and cannot be seen through, even in its normal form, until the next dawn. Any effect that would shield the Aurelio from divination spells causes the spyglass to only see a cloud of dark grey fog. Anything on board the ship that is individually protected from divination spells is invisible to the spyglass and cannot be seen by any means. If the Aurelio is on another plane of existence, the spyglass only sees a cloud of dark grey fog. If the Aurelio is destroyed or sunk, the magic of the spyglass breaks. The etchings on the brass disappear, the dial ceases to rotate, the outermost lens shatters, and it is no longer magical.
Notes: Bonus: Perception, Bonus: Investigation
