Wondrous Item, very rare (requires attunement by a creature focusing on their home for a short or long rest)

Appearance

This item is actually two linked items. The first is a small yellow brick about the size of a domino and made of an unknown material. Secondly is a pair of red shoes that initially look like fine women's shoes, but they quickly adapt into shoes that fit the wearer's style, such as boots, slippers or sandals, but they retain their bright ostentatious ruby color.

 Function

A creature may place the small yellow brick somewhere, whether it be the pocket of someone, a tree marking an entrance, or a roving shopkeeper's cart. The creature may then click their shoes' heels together.

The DM then rolls a d20 and follows the following:

1 : A palm-sized figurine house falls on the head of the shoes' wearer. It deals 2d8 force damage.

2 - 5 : The shoes lead the wearer to the nearest small dog. If there is no dog within 1 mile, the shoes function as if a 6 or higher had been rolled.

6-20 : The shoes lead you to the yellow brick along the fastest path. The shoes avoid water and will not purposefully endanger their wearer. If the brick is no longer on the same plane of existence, the shoes lead the wearer to the position of where the brick was last on the same plane.

If the shoes are submerged in water, or a quantity of water equal to a standard bucket is thrown onto the wearer, the shoes become inert until the next dawn.

Hags have an overwhelming urge to acquire these shoes, whether by bargaining or battle will depend on the Hag.

Everytime the wearer encounters monkeys, the shoes will effectively be frightened of the creatures, refusing to move closer and encouraging moving away. A DC 17 Strength check is needed to overcome the shoes, after which they will comply with the wearer again.
