Weapon (crossbow, hand), very rare (requires attunement by a anyone proficient in crossbows)

This hand-cranked crossbow is a combination of gnomish clockwork and some unknown magic. Several apparatuses and gems have been attached to every free space on the crossbow. Three scopes adorn the top of the crossbow stacked one on top of another. The stock has been replaced with a sticky jar that seems to be continuously leaking a small amount of jam. You have a +1 to attack and damage rolls with this weapon.

  • On a natural 20, immediately fires a second bolt
  • On a natural 1 or 2, the blaster misfires a bolt in the direction of the user....twice

Prior to firing this crossbow 1 of 8 features added to it to activate. Roll a d8 to see which will occur

  1. the crossbow jams, as jam literally starts to pour out of it (bonus action to clear jam, jam will clear on it's own at by the start of your next turn)
  2. you begin to levitate for 2 rounds
  3. gain +5 to hit on this attack, you crit if you beat the targets ac by more than 10 regardless of what you rolled
  4. a burst of dragonspice flies back into your face, you have disadvantage on this attack
  5. on hit - the creature you targeted is invisible until the start of your next turn
  6. on hit - instead of dealing your normal damage you instead hit the target with a Chaos bolt
  7. misty step 30 feet in a random direction gain advantage on this attack roll
  8. on hit- the bolt explodes dealing an extra 1d6 to the target and all creatures within 10 feet

Once per day you can take a bolt from this crossbow and use it to mix a container of liquid no larger that 1 sq foot and the liquid becomes martini. 

Proficiency with a Hand Crossbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
