Wrath's Edge is a +2 Greataxe once wielded by Aegis, the Wrathful Metal Titan, a Barbarian famous for his powerful rage and his complete domination of whatever battlefield he once roamed. This item holds six charges, regaining one at the dawn of each day, and whispers of battles long forgotten, of glorious victories lost to the sands of time.
Power of the Titan. While attuned to Wrath's Edge, the wielder may expend one charge as a bonus action to use the Barbarian's Rage ability, staying in this transformation for 1 minute. The wielder gains all the benefits of Rage, but after the one minute is up, the wielder may spend an additional charge to maintain their Rage, but once the transformation is over, they suffer levels of exhaustion equal to how many charges were expended. These levels of exhaustion can only be cured by a long rest, in which the wielder will need to be sleeping for the entire rest.
Titan's Grip. While under the Rage transformation, the wielder cannot be disarmed of Wrath's Edge, as the weapon fuels their anger with the fury of Aegis.
Armored Stance. The wielder may expand three charges to exchange their flesh with the tough metal shell that Aegis once embodied. While in this armored state, the great axe transforms to spread across the wielder's skin, creating the armor, the wielder gains a +2 to their AC for 1d4 minutes. Losing their weapon, their unarmed strikes now deal 1d8 bludgeoning damage. After the transformation, Wrath's Edge is ejected from the armor, reforming into the axe mid-flight. The axe is launched 10 feet away, unless the wielder succeeds on a DC 15 Strength check, to retain their grip on the axe.
Proficiency with a Greataxe allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Cleave. If you hit a creature with a melee attack roll using this weapon, you can make a melee attack roll with the weapon against a second creature within 5 feet of the first that is also within your reach. On a hit, the second creature takes the weapon’s damage, but don’t add your ability modifier to that damage unless that modifier is negative. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
Notes: Bonus: Melee Weapon Attacks, Exhaustion, Requires Attunement by a Barbarian, Heavy, Two-Handed, Cleave
