This curved blade is elegantly formed, crafted of a special alloy forged of the arcane sands of the Borderdune Rivers, lightened mithral and sturdy adamantine, in a process known and guarded jealously by the lineage of the founders of Aujir. It whistles and keens in a piercing cry as it blurs through armor, flesh, bone and sinew as easily as it dances through the air.
- You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
- This weapon is considered an instrument, and may be used to fulfill the somatic components of Bard spellcasting. Performance checks made using Tenor are made with a +1 bonus.
- Bass: As the wielder moves, the blade whistles louder and higher, forming a cutting sheath of sonic energy around Tenor. This results in a vastly-improved slash as the dervish blade picks up motion. For every ten feet the wielder has moved prior to their attack that turn, their next successful hit will deal additional thunder damage. At 10 feet of movement, this is a 1d6; at 20 feet, 1d8; at 30 feet, 1d10; at 40 feet, 1d12; at 60 feet, 2d6; at 80 feet, 2d8; at 100 feet, 2d10; and at 120 feet, 2d12. Bass dissipates at the start of the wielder's next turn.
Resonance (The Dervish's Song)
Tenor was forged the twin to a sister scimitar, Contralto, and resonates in kind with its like dervish-blade. When they are wielded and attuned as a pair, the blades become empowered by one another, the whistling cry and humming croon performing together in a spinning, slashing melody of carnage.
- Tenor is now considered a +3 weapon, gives a +3 bonus to Performance skill checks, has 6 charges and regains 1d4+2 expended charges daily at dawn.
- Subharmonic: At the start of the wielder's turn, an Inspiration die may be spent to dance in place, beginning Bass before any movement would ensue. After rolling, multiply the result of the Inspiration die by 10 feet; the wielder is considered to have already moved by that distance prior to unleashing Bass, even if they choose not to move that turn.
- Baritone (1 charge): With a twist of the blade ensconced by sonic energy, the cut erupts into a sudden, violent repel of the victim. On a failed Strength save (DC 17), the attacked creature is pushed away from the wielder for a distance equal to half of their Bass attack's prior movement.
- Countertenor (2 charges): The wielder may instead use their Subharmonics to improve the spell attack or spell save DC of their next spell by the result of their Inspiration die roll; alternatively, Countertenor may be expended to begin a Crescendo.
- Crescendo: As an action, the wielder may expend their Mezzo, Countertenor or both to unleash a powerful, explosive finale with the gathered energies. This special attack is a 30-foot radial burst; whilst the damage type is determined by Mezzo. On a failed Constitution save (DC 17), each creature in range excluding the wielder takes 5d8 force damage, and a number of additional d8 damage die of the Mezzo resistance type equal to your Countertenor. Upon unleashing this attack, Contralto and Tenor are not considered Resonant until the next dawn.
Proficiency with a Scimitar allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
