Weapon (shortsword), very rare

This broken Longsword serves capably as a short sword. Its time drowned in the filth of the sewers of Ravnica, between the magical power of both the Gruul and the Golgari have suffused it with power and the rot that surrounded the blade for so long have given it a power all its own.

You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon, in addition it does an additional 1d4 Necrotic damage on hit. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or contract a disease. Until the disease is cured, the target can’t regain hit points except by magical means, and the target’s hit point maximum decreases by 3 (1d6) every 24 hours. If the target’s hit point maximum drops to 0 as a result of this disease, the target dies.

Proficiency with a Shortsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
