Weapon (spear), very rare (requires attunement)

This beautiful golden spear is adorned with twisting emerald vines encircling it. Legend has it that this spear belonged to a particularly zealous former Summer Knight and his spirit still inhabits it. While attuned to this sentient chaotic good magical weapon, the spear compels the wielder to perform acts of heroism. The spear always has the following magical properties:

You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

When the wielder enters battle roll a DC 12 Wisdom saving throw. If failed, the following conditions apply until they pass a DC 12 Wisdom saving throw at the beginning of their next turn:

  • The spear cannot be removed from the wielder's grip
  • The Spear acts independently and rag-dolls the wielder around as it performs incredible feats in battle
  • The wielder attacks the strongest enemy that is within range.
  • The player cannot willingly retreat from battle

Single-Minded Battle Focus

Proficiency Bonus times per day, the wielder's mind may become one with the spear, becoming single-mindedly focused on their goal: attack or defense. 

  • Defense: for each point of your Attack and Damage Rolls you sacrifice, you boost your AC by 1 to a max of +3. The effect lasts 1 minute.
  • Attack: for each point of your AC you sacrifice, you boost your Attack and Damage Rolls by 1 to a max of +3. The effect lasts for 1 minute.

Boon of the Summer Court

Once per day the wielder may invoke the Mantle of the Summer Knight to petition their patron for aid at the beginning of each day. Roll a D10 to determine a random effect. If the effect is a leveled spell, the wielder can cast it once without expending a spell slot.

  7. The vines on the spear come to life. Till the next dawn, the reach of your spear becomes 30 feet and those hit with the attack must succeed on a Strength Saving Throw equal to your Spell Save or be pulled 5 feet in the direction of the wielder. If the creature saves on the throw or is huge in size, it is not moved.
  8. The Spear does an additional D8 Radiant Damage
  9. Gain the Effects of the Fey Touched feat for 24 hrs.
  10. Choose the effect.

As the wielder proves more worthy of the title of the Summer Knight, additional abilities may be unlocked as the powers of the previous Summer Knights are passed on to the wielder.

Can only be wielded by a Hexblade/Arch Fey Warlock or Oath of the Ancients Paladin.

Proficiency with a Spear allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
