Weapon (club), uncommon

The Yo-yo is a small, cylindrical object attached to a string. It is typically composed of two identical disks attached by a central dowl.

It is lightweight and typically constructed of wood or metal, and can be easily concealed in one hand. The string material is typically twine or hemp, although some have been known to use metal wire.

A player can earn Proficiency with the Yo-yo by practicing with it for 2 consecutive Short Rest periods. If a player goes 2 consecutive Long Rest periods without practicing with the Yo-yo, the player loses Proficiency and must begin again.

Gaining Proficiency with the Yo-yo gives the attacker a +1 DEX Bonus when attacking with it and an additional 1d4 Force dmg.

The Yo-yo can be utilized as a simple club with a 5' reach (1d4 Bludgeoning dmg) or a Sling with a single bullet (1d4 Bludgeoning dmg). On a Critical Hit, the target is considered Stunned until the attacker's next turn.

If utilized as a Club, the target must make a DC14 DEX save or be considered Grappled as the string gets wrapped around the target's neck.

If utilized as a Sling, the player can make an active Perception check as a Bonus Action to track the Yo-yo so it can be retrieved. If this check fails, when the combat finishes, the player can make a Perception or Investigation check to track and find the Yo-yo.

The Yo-yo can be concealed in a hand and utilized to add a 1d6 Bludgeoning damage to a single Unarmed Strike.

Every time you attack with the Yo-yo, roll d100. On a 51-100, the weapon takes no damage. On a 21-50, the weapon is considered Dented and attacks with it as a Sling are made at a Disadvantage. On a 2-20, the weapon is considered Damaged, and all attacks are made at a Disadvantage. On a Critical Fail, the weapon is considered Broken and unusable. (The d100 roll is not utilized for an Unarmed Strike attack.) Damage done to the Yo-yo in this manner is cumulative. The Yo-yo is considered Damaged after being Dented 3 times. The Yo-yo is considered Broken after being Damaged 3 times.

If the Yo-yo is Damaged, Dented, or Broken while the Proficiency still is active, the character can use a Short Rest period to repair a Damaged/Dented Yo-yo or replace a Broken one.

Proficiency with a Club allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
