Throwing Knives function almost identically to normal daggers, but with a few changes. Their weight and cost is half that of a standard dagger, they are not made with guards, and have an exposed tang that doubles as its handle.
Throwing Knives can deal either piercing, or slashing, damage (throwers choice) equal to 1d4 + your Dexterity modifier on a hit.
Throwing Knives also have the following traits:
- These knives have been specially designed for throwing, granting them an increased Range (40/120).
- You have advantage on Dexterity (Sleight of Hand) checks when attempting to conceal throwing knives on your person.
- You can draw, or stow, up to three of these knives as a single item interaction, and can hold up to three of them in one hand comfortably between your fingers.
Made to Fly. You have disadvantage on Melee attack rolls when using Throwing Knives. As they have been deliberately designed to be thrown.
Proficiency with a Dagger allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Nick. When you make the extra attack of the Light property, you can make it as part of the Attack action instead of as a Bonus Action. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
Notes: Damage, Combat, Finesse, Light, Thrown, Nick
I imagined this exact thing and found it, thank you for allowing me to avoid the tedious.
