Weapon (dart), very rare (requires attunement by a 5 years)

A foot-long wooden arrow that has a pyramid tip and lacks fletching. The arrow is telepathically linked to the caster, and the caster uses whistling in order for the arrow to move. The arrow can hover in place without the caster whistling.

As a bonus action, activate the arrow to get it hovering. In the following rounds, you may use a bonus action to move the arrow, up to 80ft.

Once activated, as an action you may mentally direct the arrow to make a ranged attack against a single visible target, from a distance of 40-80ft (anything lower or higher than this range is at disadvantage). At 100 ft radius from the caster, the arrow loses momentum and hovers in place.

On a successful attack, the arrow does 1d6 + WIS modifier piercing damage and passes through the target into the next available space on its trajectory. On a failed attack, the arrow is deflected 5 ft in a random direction. If the failed attack was within 1 of the AC the arrow gets stuck in the creature and may be removed using your bonus action in the following round. On a critical fail (natural 1) the arrow falls to the ground and must be reactivated.

If the arrow is held in the caster's hand it can be used as a melee weapon, doing 1d4 + DEX modifier piercing damage.

To use the arrow as an arcane focus, the arrow must be in the caster's hand.

Proficiency with a Dart allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
