This set of half plate is made from a massive scarab beetle's shell and contains no metal or synthetic materials. A creature attuned to this set of armor does not suffer disadvantage on dexterity (Stealth) Checks
A creature attuned to this set of armor can use its bonus action to release a set of wings from the back of the armor that grant the wearer a flying speed of 30ft for 3 rounds. If the creature is still airborne when the 3 rounds are over they will descend safely to at a speed of 60ft per round. This ability can be used twice per long rest.
Additionally an attuned creature can use it's reaction to cast the SHIELD spell without expending a spell slot. This ability can be used a number of times per day equal to the creatures proficiency modifier. Instead of an arcane shield, this ability appears as a manifestation of giant chitinous plates of the beetle.
Half plate consists of shaped metal plates that cover most of the wearer's body. It does not include leg protection beyond simple greaves that are attached with leather straps.
