This pair of weapons were tailor made for the highest ranking monks of the ancient order of the White Crane. When used in tandem, they grant a joint benefit to the wielder, regardless of whether they chose to attack with the sword or the gloves, granting a bonus of +2 to your attack and damage rolls with the shortsword and unarmed strikes.
While wielding these items, you may perform a bonus action to begin the "Dance of the White Crane", a fluid fighting stance that grants the following benefits for a period of one minute:
Your speed is doubled, as if you had taken the dash action, but requires no action each turn.
You have advantage on all saving throws.
You can use this feature once and you must finish a short or long rest before you can do so again. Starting at Level 8 you can perform the "dance" twice per rest. Once you reach level 13 you may perform the dance freely and the bonus to attack and damage rolls becomes +4.
Proficiency with a Shortsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
Notes: Bonus: Melee Attacks, Damage: Unarmed Attacks, Damage: Melee Weapon Attacks, Bonus: Unarmed Attacks, Finesse, Light, Vex
