Zaremon's Stinger is a brace in the shape of a large golden scorpion with emerald eyes who’s tail wraps around the wearer’s arm until the stinger is at the top of the forearm again. Zaremon’s Stinger allows the user to trap part of the soul of up to three creatures within itself. If the user attempts to trap part of a fourth soul, Zaremon's Stinger will be destroyed. It is triggered by touch, and acts almost like a real scorpion when activated, stinging the target and glowing an emerald green while consuming part of the soul of the target. Zaremon’s stinger has 5 charges, which are regained daily at dawn. The effects of the stinger can be inflicted on any creatures whose souls are within the stinger. It does not require any charges to release the soul of a target. The target cannot evade the effects of Zaremon’s Stinger, regardless of location. The applicable effects include:
Scorpion's Venom:
The target has disadvantage on either saving throws, ability checks, or attack rolls for every 24 hours per charges consumed in this manner.
Poison:
Using two charges, Zaremon’s Stinger will glow an emerald green and the target will be inflicted with 12d8 poison damage, and must succeed a constitution saving throw of 18 or be inflicted with 1d6 poison damage per turn for up to 1 minute. The effect does not end on a successful save; rather, no damage is taken on this turn.
Lightning:
Using two charges, Zaremon’s Stinger will glow an icy blue and inflict 12d8 lightning damage to the target, stunning them for 1 minute and knocking them prone.
Curse of the Scorpion:
Using all four charges, Zaremon’s stinger will glow purple and will kill the target. This destroys both the target and Zaremon’s Stinger, releasing any other souls trapped within the brace.
