This 60-foot length of silk rope weighs 3 pounds and can hold up to 3,000 pounds. If you hold one end of the rope and use an action to speak the command word, the rope animates. As a bonus action, you can command the other end to move toward a destination you choose. That end moves 10 feet on your turn when you first command it and 10 feet on each of your turns until reaching its destination, up to its maximum length away, or until you tell it to stop. You can also tell the rope to fasten itself securely to an object or to unfasten itself, to knot or unknot itself, or to coil itself for carrying.
If you tell the rope to knot, large knots appear at 1- foot intervals along the rope. While knotted, the rope shortens to a 50-foot length and grants advantage on checks made to climb it.
The rope has AC 20 and 20 hit points. It regains 1 hit point every 5 minutes as long as it has at least 1 hit point. If the rope drops to 0 hit points, it is destroyed.
Notes: Advantage: Athletics, Movement, Utility, Exploration
I'd say like
one of those tent-pole-things
or a chain link thing
something of that effect
The rope can go up but it needs a point to tie up to once their.
bruh
I was thinking the same thing. The big problem is it only moves at 10' per turn. If it was faster, it could be used as some sort of grapple that you fire out of some mechanism or your armor. Shame.
You can, just at 10ft/round
Dope
RAW there shouldn't normally be a check to climb a knotted rope, right? Climbing is just half movement, unless its a slippery vertical surface, and even that at DM discretion. My 6 year old climbs a knotted rope at the playground, so I feel like advantage on checks you shouldn't have to make is a bit weird.
That said, I guess if you're under stress, or there is high wind or something a check with advantage might be appropriate, but under normal circumstances shouldn't it just be slow movement without a check to climb a knotted rope?
This is real treasure!
It doesn’t specify whether the object it fastens itself to can be held or not. You could use it Spider-Man style and snag your opponents weapons and items!
Chain of climbing, possibly with gears to enable it to move in a direction, or rods that come out if commanded (to replace the knot feature)
Could you tuner it into a wepon…. Like attach a broad sword to and ‘’kaboom’’ mud er wepon
How rope like do we need to be to be a rope? If i string 50 pairs of manacles together, could I use the artificer infusion to make a rope of chains to bind all 100 limbs of the primordial demon that gave me my pact?
