You can use a bonus action to speak this magic sword's command word, causing flames to erupt from the blade. These flames shed bright light in a 40-foot radius and dim light for an additional 40 feet. While the sword is ablaze, it deals an extra 2d6 fire damage to any target it hits. The flames last until you use a bonus action to speak the command word again or until you drop or sheathe the sword.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
Notes: Damage: Fire, Damage, Combat, Versatile, Sap
How much would this usually cost? One of my campaign shops is adapted to magic items and long-story short, it has this among its inventory. I'm wondering how much this would usually be valued at.
The framework for pricing rare magic items is 2x10 * 1,000 gp. Given that this particular magic item is a long sword (15 gp), that puts the price range at 2,000 - 20,000 + 15 gp.
THIS IS THE COOLEST
Player: *stabs bugbear above the heart*
Bugbear: *doesn't die*
Player: *Speaks to sword*
Sword: *blade bursts into flame*
Bugbear: *bursts into flame and dies*
There’s literally a table of suggested prices for magic items
They might not have access to books if they’re a novice dm
Might give this to a player on the condition they use the word "the" so it's constantly flashing while they speak.
that table is nearly useless that table would value this item at 2000-20000 gold thats not a price thats an 18000 gold range
I honestly wonder, can I stack this with dancing and frostbrand to make it deal a truck ton of damage and have the ability to fly?
Wheres the rarity?
