A crooked tree limb that is a cross between a cane and a cudgel in shape, the knob of the Silent Gavel is carved with whorling glyphs spreading down to about halfway it's length that those familiar with the ciphers common to the followers of Sehanine the Moonweaver (or those otherwise trained) recognize as depicting the tenets of Her commandments in a coiling spiral. At night, these glyphs glow subtly and in moonlight, the bearer see them so bright that a 10 foot area around them is lit as though with strong moonlight that is invisible to anyone else.
