Weapon (rapier), legendary (requires attunement)

You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. In addition, the weapon ignores resistance to piercing damage.

When you attack a creature with a beating heart with this weapon and roll a 20 on the attack roll, you pierce the creature's heart. The creature immediately drops to zero HP and automatically fails one death saving throw per turn until healed or dead. A creature is immune to this effect if it is immune to piercing damage, doesn't have or need a heart, has legendary actions, or the DM decides that the creature's anatomy does not allow for this weapon to pierce its heart. Such a creature instead takes an extra 6d8 piercing damage from the hit.

Proficiency with a Rapier allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.

Notes: Bonus: Magic, Damage, Combat, Finesse, Vex
