Weapon (shotgun), legendary

A fearsome weapon by reputation alone, The Souper Shotgun has written its name into its world, and must now find another adventurer to grow its reputation.

The Souper Shotgun fires in a 15ft. cone, dealing 6d4 of either Force or Piercing damage, tearing through constructs and organics alike. The cone doesn't have an effect or save, and counts as an attack. For every turn that the gun is not fired, add an extra d4 to your next attack with the gun. This resets once the combat ends. Once per turn as a free action, you may swap ammo types (Force, Piercing).

When this weapon kills a creature, roll a DC15 luck check. On a successful check, nothing happens. On a failed check, if the target was organic, its body will melt down into a fleshy goop, leaving magic items and gear in tact. If the target was a construct, all of its parts violently disassemble and shoot out at high speeds. Anyone within a range determined by the DM based on the constructs size, must make a DC12-DC14 dexterity check. On a failed save, take an amount of damage determined by the DM.

It’s up to you to decide whether a character has proficiency with a firearm. Characters in most D&D worlds wouldn’t have such proficiency. During their downtime, characters can use the training rules in the Player’s Handbook to acquire proficiency, assuming that they have enough ammunition to keep the weapons working while mastering their use.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Push. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can push the creature up to 10 feet straight away from yourself if it is Large or smaller.

Notes: Range, Two-Handed, Ammunition (Firearms), Reload, Push
