This ring contains the soul of a powerful dragon that had it soul sealed within the ring as too prevent people from resurrecting the dragon. However the dragon’s soul has cursed the ring to prevent all those who wear it from using magic, but it can grant power to the wearer. The ring currently is dormant and the dragon’s soul is currently awaiting to be awoken. While wearing the ring the left eye of the wearer will change to look like a galaxy.

Stage 0.
The ring is dormant and no power can be drawn from it. The passive effects of the ring are still in effect. When the wearer hits a creature with a melee attack, the enemy must make a constitution saving throw dc 15 or lose a 1st level spell slot, if there are none the next level of spell slots will be absorbed, if there are no spell slots to absorb you can absorb 10 hit points as one spell slot.
Stage 1, Claws of a Dragon. After absorbing 5 spell slots the dragon will awaken. It will pull the wearer’s vision to a void and announce it’s self to the wearer. Now the wearer can use one charge of the ring at time to add one damage die of radiant damage to all melee attacks.The wearer can only use one charge at a time per hour and you only benefit from the effects for an hour. At this point the dragon can telepathically communicate with the wearer.
Stage 2, Tail of a Dragon. After absorbing 15 more spell slots the dragon will announce that it has grown in power and now the wearer can access more power from the dragon. Now the wearer can use two charges at a time. During the hour the wearer now sprouts a spectral dragon tail and can as an action make a tail attack against enemies. The tail attack deals 3d6 points of bludgeoning damage and the enemies must make a strength saving throw dc 16 or be knocked prone and has a reach of 10 feet. During the hour the wearer still benefits from the effects of the previous stages.
Stage 3, Wings of a Dragon. After absorbing 30 more spell slots the dragon will once again announce another gain in power. Now the wearer can use 3 charges and sprout a pair of spectral dragon wings and can fly as much as their walking speed, they also gain an additional 30 feet of movement for the hour that they activate the ring. They still benefit from the effects of the previous stages.
Stage 4, Breath of a Dragon. After absorbing 50 more spell slots the dragon will announce a gain in power. The wearer can now use 4 charges to activate the rings effect. For the hour the wearer can now use their action to use Photon Stream to attack their enemies, the beam is 60 feet long and 1 foot in diameter, deals 6d8 points of radiant damage, and all enemies in the beam must make a dexterity saving throw dc 17 to take half damage, if failed the enemies take full damage. The wearer benefits from the effects of the previous stages.
Stage 5, The Body and Eyes of a Dragon. After absorbing another 50 more spell slots the dragon will announce that it had reached its current maximum level of power but if more power is absorbed he could possibly evolve and become even stronger. The wearer now can use 5 charges to activate the ring for an hour. During the hour the wearer now gets a +2 to their ac and strength and gain truesight up to 10ft, and still benefit from the previous stages.
Stage 6, Neo Dragon Claws. After absorbing 60 more spells slots the dragon will announce that an aspect of it as evolved allowing for the wearer to gain more power. The wearer can now use 6 charges to activate activate the effects. If 6 charges are used all of the previous stages are activated and the Claws stage upgrades to gives the wearer 2 additional damage dies of radiant damage and now one additional damage die of fire damage.
Stage 7, Neo Dragon Tail. After absorbing 60 more spell slots the dragon will announce that the wearer that another aspect of the dragon as evolved. Now when activating 7 charges all of the previous stages are in effect as well and any upgraded stage is taken as well, with the new activation upgrades the Tail allowing it to deal 5d6 points of bludgeoning damage and 2d6 points of fire damage, and the dc for being prone is now 18.
Stage 8, Neo Dragon Wings. After absorbing 60 more spell slots the dragon will announce that the wearer that another aspect of the dragon as evolved. Now when activating 8 charges all of the previous stages are in effect as well and any upgraded stage is taken as well, with the new activation upgrades the wings allowing for the wearer to fly at double their walking speed, and they take no fall damage.
Stage 9, Neo Dragon Breath. After absorbing 60 more spell slots the dragon will announce that the wearer that another aspect of the dragon as evolved. Now when activating 9 charges all of the previous stages are in effect as well and any upgraded stage is taken as well, with the new activation upgrades the Breath. The breath now consists of three beams with the same dimensions and one foot between them, the beams now deal 8d8 points of radiant damage and 2d8 point of fire damage, the dc increases to 20.
Stage 10, Fully Evolved Neo Dragon. After absorbing a final 70 spell slots he dragon will announce that it has fully evolved and now grants the wearing it full power. Upon using all 10 charges of the ring all of the previous aspects of the dragon now become upgraded to their neo form as well as the eyes and body, now the wearer gets a +4 to ac and strength, is immune to poison and being stunned, and gains true sight up to 60ft.
Upon unlocking the 6th stage one can instead of absorbing a spell slot to progress to the next stage one can instead use it to recharge one charge of the ring.
If the wearer takes off the ring without speaking a command word the current amount of stages unlocked will decrease by one, it will stay at 5 if it is unlocked and once stage 10 is unlocked this effect is gone.
Sentient. This ring contains the soul of a dragon so it can telepathically communicate with the wearer in the language that they are familiar with. The personality of the dragon is lawful neutral, it holds no ulterior motive and solely wants to help empower the wearer. However the dragon holds a deep distrust of wizards, sorcerers, and warlocks and won’t grant them its power. The dragon does like battle and in particular duels and allows the wearer to make it easier to convince people to enter a duel to determine how is stronger, however doesn’t like duels to the death.
