This large wooden shield decorated with a glorious cockerel over a green and white checkered pattern gives the wielder uncanny abilities of self preservation.  They can use Disengage as a bonus action and once per day, they can use a command word "Flee".  As if out of nowhere, the sounds of a lute can be heard with a talented minstrel singing:

"Brave Sir Robin ran away.
Bravely ran away away.
When danger reared it's ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled.
Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about
And gallantly he chickened out.
Swiftly taking to his feet,
He beat a very brave retreat.
Bravest of the brave, Sir Robin!"

The wielder's speed is doubled for two rounds and does not incur Attacks of Opportunity as long as they do not engage any hostile creatures.  If they do engage in combat willingly, while under this effect, they are paralyzed with fear and dread for two rounds.  This ability recharges after a long rest.
