Wondrous Item, artifact (requires attunement)
A beautiful and wondrous gem that contains the light of the two Tree of Valinor - Telperion & Laurelin. The wielder of the Slmaril can store up to 9 levels of spells within the gem, which can be cast as a Bonus Action. In addition, the wielder gains the ability to cast 3 spells per day from the following spell list (but each spell can be cast but once per day).
- Heavenly Halo of Binding: Casting Time: Bonus Action; Range: 90'; Area of Effect: any single target up to 20' d.; Duration: 10 rounds;Effects: a shimmering, golden halo drops over the target, binding it if target fails a WIS save. Those bound cannot attack or cast spells and are completely defenseless. However, anyone attacking the bound target must successfully make a WIS save or the golden halo will transfer itself upon the attacker for 10 rounds (regardless of caster's will). Concentration required.
- Gathering the Sheaves: Casting Time: Bonus Action; Range: 360 radius around the caster; Area of Effect: any single slain victim; Duration: 10 rounds; Effects: all scattered remains, regardless of size, within the casting area are gathered up and reassembled into their former form. Vaporized parts (or the like) are gone, but actual pieces even down to the molecular level are affected.
- Starbuck's Sunlight Serenade: Casting Time: Bonus Action; Range: 60'; Area of Effect: 30' radius around caster; Duration: 10 rounds; Effects: a bright golden sunlight fills the area and melodious piping music fills the air. All undead must make a WIS save or discorporate! Successful save drives them away from the area. All other light sensitive types stay clear of the affected area. Concentration required.
- Tuatha's Ritual of the Binding Chains of Light: Casting Time: Bonus Action; Range: 30'; Area of Effect: any single creature of Chaos; Duration: 10 rounds; Effects: glowing chains of golden light form around the undead target that must make a WIS save or be bound so securely it cannot move, fly, teleport or otherwise get away. If save is made it till suffers 4d6 radiant damage.
- Stafford's Star Bridge: Casting Time: Bonus Action; Range: 120'; Area of Effect: see below; Duration: 10 rounds; Effects: a rainbow hued bridge of coruscating light 5' wide, up to 20' tall & 20' long per level of caster over 7th. It will carry any weight, cannot be hit by non-magical things, and can be keyed to support any single or multiple types, letting all others fall through selectively. Concentration required.
- Antigan's Shell of Silvery Safety: Casting Time: Bonus Action; Range: self; Area of Effect: self; Duration: 10 rounds; Effects: a silver, metallic energy force surrounds the caster. Nothing magical less than 12th lvl can penetrate in either direction and all missile weapons ricochet (random direction) off it. All creatures of chaos that touch it must make a WIS save or be petrified, a save results in 3d10 radiant damage. Concentration required.
