The cracked, charred wood of this battleaxe's handle is seemingly held together only by velvet cloth, and its black iron head stays sharp against all odds.
You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. Whenever you land a critical hit with Worldthirst, you gain a number of temporary hit points equal to the damage dealt.
Attunement Benefits. While attuned to the axe, you gain the following benefits:
- You understand any spoken words you hear, and can automatically tell what language is being spoken if you have heard of the language before.
- You have resistance to psychic damage.
- You have advantage on saving throws made to avoid or end the charmed or frightened conditions on yourself.
On-Person Benefits. While the axe is on your person, you gain the following benefits, in addition to those gained simply by being attuned to it:
- You can see through illusions out to a range of 60 feet.
- You have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage.
- You gain a +2 bonus to all saving throws.
Manual Benefits. The axe has 8 charges, which can be used in the following ways:
- You can expend 1 charge to make one attack with Worldthirst as a bonus action.
- When you reduce a creature to 0 hit points using Worldthirst, you can expend 2 charges to cause the creature to die immediately.
- As an action, you can expend 3 charges to force every creature of your choice within 30 feet of you to make a Wisdom saving throw (DC 17). On a failed save, a creature takes 4d10 psychic damage and is incapacitated until the start of your next turn.
- When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can expend 6 charges to deal an extra 10d12 slashing damage. When you do so, the attack bypasses resistance to slashing damage.
The axe regains 2d4 charges daily at dusk, and 1 charge daily at dawn.
Proficiency with a Battleaxe allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Topple. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can force the creature to make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 plus the ability modifier used to make the attack roll and your Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, the creature has the Prone condition.
