The Shadow Weaver's Gem contains a black circular gem that looks like a sapphire at first glance, but looking more closely there is a faintly glowing purple swirl moving within the gem, almost as though it was alive. 

• Shadow Mastery: The wearer gains mastery over shadow magic, allowing them to cast any spell that deals necrotic damage or creates darkness without expending a spell slot, up to prof. modifier.

• Shroud of Night: The wearer is shrouded in an aura of pure darkness that extends in a 30-foot radius around them, plunging everything in that area into pitch-blackness. This darkness is magical and cannot be dispelled by normal means.

• Shadow Slip: The wearer can step into and out of shadows at will, teleporting up to 60 feet to any unoccupied space that is in dim light or darkness.

Cursed Shadow: The Shadowweaver's Gem carries a powerful curse that causes the wearer to become gradually more and more consumed by the darkness they control. The wearer gains resistance to all damage except for radiant damage but loses all sense of empathy and compassion. The curse can only be lifted by performing a special ritual with a high-level cleric or wizard or by the casting of a wish spell.
