Weapon (dagger), unknown rarity (requires attunement)

You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

This magic dagger has a hilt made from tattered leather and rusted metal. A snake skull in place of the daggers pommel. The blade itself made of obsidian stone. Engraved into the blade, a foreign text reads “A soul has been claimed…”

Once a creature has read these words they will attune with this cursed item. The effects of the curse cannot be removed by the remove curse spell. The curse remains until the attuned creature dies, or the item’s condition has been met. The dagger can be destroyed, but it will repair itself the next dawn. Even if the item is destroyed, the creature is still affected by the curse. The wielder is incapable of communicating the conditions or the contract with anyone else in any format.

This item must be used in combat at least once per day. If the wielder fails to provide blood to the dagger, the blade will lash out, attacking a random target to quench its thirst at the DMs discretion.

The item speaks to the attuned creature, feint whispers only the wielder can hear. The dagger craves blood, and is consumed by its incessant need for it. Taking over the wielders mind, often causing them to crave the bloodshed. Giving them an additional +5 to any roll with the intent to kill. And a -5 to any roll with the intent to cause non lethal damage.

Once enough blood has been shed the blade will reveal a precious secret of immeasurable value to the wielder. Rewarding them for the feast.

The blade despises sparing someone’s life. If the blade has deemed a person as its target the wielder can roll a WIS save DC 18 at disadvantage. Upon success, the wielder fends off the blade and spares the life of the target. Thus the condition is met, and the blade seeks another host.

After a month of wielding this blade, if the affected creature does not complete the contract with the dagger in one way or another, they will undergo a change by means of alignment.

Proficiency with a Dagger allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
