Weapon (scimitar), rare (requires attunement by a Requires Attunement )

A sword fashioned from a delicate wing, suffused with the magic of the stars. This is a +1 scimitar that when attuned to by a wizard or sorcerer, they are considered proficient. This weapon deals an additional 1d6 force damage on a successful melee attack roll. Additionally, if the attuned character is a wizard or sorcerer, they can use their spell attack modifier for the hit roll and their spellcasting ability modifier for adding to the damage roll.

For example, if the attuned is a fighter they would use their strength or dexterity modifier plus proficiency bonus for the attack roll then their strength or dexterity bonus for the damage. But if they are a wizard or sorcerer, they can use their intelligence or charisma modifier plus proficiency bonus for the attack roll and their intelligence or charisma bonus for damage.

Nebula: Imbue the Wing of Astel with the magic of the stars, forcing all creatures in a 20 foot cone to make a dexterity saving throw (DC equal 8 + proficiency bonus + spell casting modifier. If you have no primary spell casting modifier then the DC is 15) or take 6d4 force damage on a fail or half as much on a success. You can use this ability equal to your proficiency bonus times per day.

Proficiency with a Scimitar allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
