Once belonging to a powerful necromancer, it is believed that the Sanguine Blade was lost to time after the death of its creator. Appearing as a normal, if slightly bejewelled, dagger, the Sanguine Blade involves a curse.
When attuned to this item, you are considered cursed, and you will not willingly unattune from this item. The Dagger has three charges, that require a willing blood sacrifice of 1d12 +your own con modifier slashing damage to use. After the sacrifice is met, you will gain access to three additional spell slots up to 4th level that you can use for the next hour. After the charges are expended, they cannot be used until the following dawn. The HP expended to activate the charges can only be recovered by a long rest, healing magic has no effect.
The enchantment bestowed on the Sanguine Blade can only be removed by a Remove Curse or Wish Spell, however, the attunement to the item can end if someone else takes and voluntarily attunes to the Blade, or if the Blade is kept 100ft away from the attuned person for a full 24 hours. Alternatively, killing the attuned person can end their attunement.
Proficiency with a Dagger allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Nick. When you make the extra attack of the Light property, you can make it as part of the Attack action instead of as a Bonus Action. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
