This magical obsidian dagger has three white crystals embedded in its hilt and a blade that never needs sharpening. It seems to exude malice.
When you hit with a melee attack using Soulshard you deal an additional 1d6 necrotic damage and you regain hit points equal to half the necrotic damage dealt.
If you reduce the target to 0 hit points the dagger absorbs the soul of the target, causing instant death. During the next short or long rest one of the white crystals turns blood red and the dagger will become a +1 dagger and deal an additional 1d6 necrotic damage. When two crystals are red the dagger becomes a +2 weapon and deals an additional 2d6 necrotic damage. When three crystals are red the dagger becomes a +3 weapon and deals an additional 3d6 necrotic damage.
For every 1d4that the dagger does not absorb a soul one of the crystals will trun white again reverting the dager to its less powerful form.
Proficiency with a Dagger allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Nick. When you make the extra attack of the Light property, you can make it as part of the Attack action instead of as a Bonus Action. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
