Weapon (pistol), rare (requires attunement by a spellcaster with spellslots)

A pistol issued to members of the Royal Guard who are gifted with magical powers, in order to better combat enemies who also posses magical capabilities. However surplus pistols are sold for profit on the market.

When you purchase the pistol, choose a damage type: cold, fire, or lightning. The chosen type determines the pistol's damage of its additional damage.

When you hit a creature with a ranged weapon attack using this pistol, as a bonus action, you can expend one spell slot to deal the damage of your choice to the target, in addition to the weapon’s damage. The extra damage is 2d6 for a 1st-level spell slot, plus 1d6 for each spell level higher than 1st, to a maximum of 5d6.

Proficiency with a Pistol allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
