Serpent's Lure: As an action, the attuned wielder can invoke the Serpentshade Trident's ominous bioluminescent lure. This spectral manifestation takes the form of a serpentine and shadowy abomination that extends from the trident, casting fear into those who behold it. Any creature within a 30-foot range must make a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw or become terrified for 1 minute. While terrified, the creature's speed is halved, and it cannot willingly approach the trident. A terrified creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns. If the creature takes damage or another creature uses an action to snap it out of its fear, the effect ends. A creature that successfully saves against this ability is immune to it for the next 24 hours.
Dark Serpent's Blessing: When wielding Zahir's Serpentshade Trident, the attuned wielder gains resistance to necrotic damage and the ability to speak Abyssal, the language of Serpent Zahir.
Curse of the Abyss: The trident is cursed, and the wielder cannot willingly part with it unless a remove curse spell or similar magic is used. Additionally, the Serpentshade Trident's bioluminescent light can attract the attention of Serpent Zahir's dark servants, potentially leading to perilous encounters with cultists and followers of the malevolent god.
Proficiency with a Trident allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
