Staff, uncommon

A sampling of the Nirorn Tree, given willingly from its dryad guardian, Diapatri. This staff is known for its powers of purification and preservation of the natural world. The staff itself is akin to a shepherd's staff with partial bits of moss and leaves growing across the shaft and head. A small ribbon of yellow hangs from the base of the head and smells of marsh marigold.

This wooden staff has 10 charges. While holding it, you can use an action to expend 1 charge from the staff and cause a flower to sprout from a patch of earth or soil within 5 feet of you, or from the staff itself. Unless you choose a specific kind of flower, the staff creates a mild-scented marsh marigold. The flower is harmless and nonmagical, and it grows or withers as a normal flower would.

Additionally, while holding the staff, you can use an action to expend 3 charges from the staff to cast Purify Food and Drink. If the spell targets a source of water the area of the spell is doubled.

The staff is a symbol of the friendship between the Dryad of Purity, Diapatri, and the wielder. Most fey and plant creatures will recognize the staff so long as their intelligence is higher than an 8. The creature's disposition may change to more friendly or aggressive depending on the DM's discretion.

Should the staff be planted within an area with ample fauna, flora, and water courses over 1d100+80 years the staff shall grow into a Nirorn Tree. The tree creates a 2-mile radius of purifying magic for all the creatures and plants dwelling within the radius. Should the planter of the tree remain alive once the tree has fully grown you become its guardian gaining a once-per-day use of the Tree Stride spell which only allows you to travel to your Nirorn Tree.
