Weapon (crossbow, light), rare (requires attunement by a Creature proficient with crossbows)

”Even a Fae Lord has need of a weapon now and again; especially one so well traveled as to cross the world in a single night.” - excerpt, “Fae & Favour” chapter 12: “Artifacts II: Arms and Armor, General to Specific”

A gift for showing kindness to a stranger, in the true spirit of Yule

A beautiful, masterfully crafted light crossbow, Yuletide has an ornately carved hawthorn wood stock with blackened silver metal mechanisms. The weapons name is ornately carved across one side of the stock handle, inlaid with more blackened silver.

Fae Fortune
bonus action

You run your fingers across the inlaid name on the stock, and speak it aloud. “Yuletide”. This weapon grants advantage against creatures that are considered Fae, Fiend or Undead interchangeably. This advantage condition may be refocused once per long rest. Changing this advantage condition requires a ten minute ritual action.

Unnatural Order
bonus action

You may wish to choose your own fortune. After performing the activation ritual, for one attack, you can change the affected creature subtype that incites advantage to that of a subtype outside of Fae Fortunes parameters. Should the roll fail even with advantage, you must make your next attack with this weapon at disadvantage, regardless of the creature type of the target. This ability may be used only once per long rest.

Proficiency with a Light Crossbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.

Notes: Creature proficient with crossbows, Ammunition, Loading, Range, Two-Handed, Slow
