When wearing grants resistance to blunt, piercing, slashing from non magical attacks and force damage. Item destroyed after use.
Blade Catcher:
If a melee attack strikes the user and was subject to the above resistance, then there is a chance their weapon gets caught in the sticky white mess that solidified. On a failed DC 12 strength saving throw the attacker is disarmed.
Flammable:
Confers vulnerability to fire for the next attack that hits user. Item destroyed after wearer suffers fire damage.
Prototype:
this is new technology that has an inherent chance to fail. Failure rate set by DM. Subsequent versions of this item get better if players get an opportunity to examine the remains of the dud ouch catchers and succeed in an investigation check whose DC is also set by the DM on a case by case basis.
