A darkstone cylinder, metallic railing and a deep dark blue wooden handle. This weapon is unlike anything seen out with the confines of Tortuga's realm. No trigger appears on this weapon, it is covered tarnished brass writing of a language logn forgetten. Even those with the ability to understand all written languages struggle to comprehend as if the writing itself does not wish to be understood.
On the underside of the handle a gap, just large enough and of the right shape for a shatter crystal to fit within (which it uses as ammunition), peers forward, almost gazing longingly into your own soul.
Each shot made with this weapon, load and explosive yet accompanied by soft, mournful whispers. You feel any sense of humanity you had left slowly escaping with each individual shot fired.
It’s up to you to decide whether a character has proficiency with a firearm. Characters in most D&D worlds wouldn’t have such proficiency. During their downtime, characters can use the training rules in the Player’s Handbook to acquire proficiency, assuming that they have enough ammunition to keep the weapons working while mastering their use.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
Notes: Range, Two-Handed, Ammunition (Firearms), Reload, Sap
