If the creature is not attuned, this item will act like a normal boomerang.

If the creature is attuned, this item will count as a simple martial weapon and any proficiency bonus will be added towards attack rolls. Without proficiency bonus, this item will have a +1 to attack rolls. This item lets off an aura of light.

As a bonus action, the user can call back the Boomerang to their hand quickly. Any creatures in the way have to do a Dc 12+Str mod Dex save or take another 1d8 damage. If the user doesn't call back the boomerang, it will just fly back to the user’s hand without damaging anyone. As a reaction, a creature can try to catch the boomerang doing a Dc 15 Dex check. If the user tries to recall the boomerang while a creature has the boomerang, the creature has to make a Dc 14 Str check to hold on.

The boomerang is a ranged weapon, and any creature proficient with the javelin is also proficient with this weapon.

On a miss, a boomerang returns to the thrower's hand.
