This crossbow is small and mounted on the wrist of its user. It is folded when not in use and can be armed at a moment's notice using a pulley activated by flexing your wrist in a certain way. It fires when bending your wrist down rapidly once armed. Arming the crossbow does not cause any sound unless the crossbow is broken.
Usage:
-
Firing Mechanism: When fired, the crossbow sends a fast and powerful bolt to the targeted location. It can be reloaded quickly using the built-in quick reload system.
Battle Mechanics:
-
Sleight of Hand: Once per battle, the first time you use your crossbow, your sleight of hand catches the enemy off guard, dealing extra damage. Additionally, this maneuver allows you to reload instantly, readying your weapon for the next shot.
-
Charges: Each use of the crossbow in a battle consumes a charge. If used more than three times in a single battle, each subsequent use consumes two charges.
-
Durability: The crossbow has 6 charges. Exceeding this number will damage the crossbow.
-
Deployment Issues: Deploying the crossbow may make sounds, alerting enemies when charges are out. There's a chance it will get stuck during deployment, rendering it unusable for that turn.
Damage and Hit Mechanics:
- When using the crossbow, roll 2 D8 dice and add your Dexterity modifier to determine the damage output.
- Additionally, roll a D20 and add your Dexterity modifier to determine the hit outcome:
- 1: You miss.
- 2-9: You scrape the enemy (chose your highest D8 roll for your damage output).
- 10-19: You have a decent hit.
- 20: You choose a location to hit and add an additional D8 to your damage output. Rolling a 20 also results in not using a charge and instantly reloading your crossbow.
Proficiency with a Hand Crossbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
Notes: Bonus: Ability Checks, Care and Attention: Wrist crossbows require significant care and maintenance. They are not meant to be used constantly. Frequent use makes the crossbow more susceptible to jamming, squeaking, and getting stuck when deploying. Regular maintenance with lubricants is necessary to keep the crossbow in optimal condition. Durability: The crossbow has 6 charges. Exceeding this number will damage the crossbow. Deployment Issues: Deploying the crossbow may make sounds, alerting enemies when charges are out. There's a chance it will get stuck during deployment, rendering it unusable for that turn., Damage, Combat, Ammunition, Light, Loading, Range, Vex
