This finely crafted rapier is imbued with elemental wind magic, making its blade shimmer with an ethereal glow. The hilt is adorned with intricate designs of swirling winds and sharp blades, and the blade itself is razor-sharp, capable of cutting through the air with ease.
Special Ability:
- Blade Barrier: Once per long rest, you can use an action to cast the Blade Barrier spell (save DC 15) from the rapier. The magical barrier of whirling blades appears at a point you choose within range, creating a wall of blades that provides both offense and defense.
Blade Barrier Spell (PHB, p. 218):
- Casting Time: 1 action
- Range: 90 feet
- Components: V, S
- Duration: Concentration, up to 10 minutes
- Effect: You create a vertical wall of whirling, razor-sharp blades made of magical energy. The wall appears within range and lasts for the duration. You can make the wall up to 100 feet long, 20 feet high, and 5 feet thick. The wall provides three-quarters cover to creatures behind it, and its space is difficult terrain.
- Damage: When a creature enters the wall's area for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, the creature must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 6d10 slashing damage. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage.
Proficiency with a Rapier allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
Notes: Weapon (rapier), rare (requires attunement), Damage, Combat, Finesse, Vex
