Throwing Knives:
Weapon Properties:
Damage: 1d4 piercing
Range: 30/60 ft.
Weight: Light
Finesse: You can use Dexterity instead of Strength for attack and damage rolls with this weapon.
Thrown: These knives are designed specifically to be thrown. You can make a ranged weapon attack with them within a range of 30 feet, or up to 60 feet with disadvantage.
Melee: A character using a throwing knife as a melee weapon takes a -2 penalty to their attack rolls.
Properties:
Quick Draw:
When combat begins, you can draw and throw a throwing knife as part of the same action, requiring no additional movement or action to ready the weapon. This can be done even in the first round of combat.
Light and Quick:
Throwing knives can be used as part of two-weapon fighting. When you take the Attack action, you can throw a knife as a bonus action if you are holding one in your other hand.
Flurry of Knives:
As an action, you can throw multiple knives in rapid succession. Choose up to three creatures within 30 feet of you and make a ranged weapon attack against each. Each target must be within your normal throwing range. Throwing in quick succession makes trying to hit a precision target difficult. When attempting this, the throw is made with disadvantage. After using this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Concealable:
Due to their small size and design, throwing knives are easy to hide. You have advantage on Dexterity (Sleight of Hand) checks to conceal them on your person. If someone tries to find them on you, they must succeed on a DC 15 Intelligence (Investigation) check to notice the hidden knives.
Crafting and Acquisition:
Throwing knives are relatively easy to craft or acquire in most places.
Crafting DC: To craft a set of throwing knives (usually in sets of 3), a character must succeed on a DC 12 Dexterity (Smith's Tools) check. Crafting one set takes about 2 hours and costs 10 gp in materials.
Proficiency with a Dagger allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Nick. When you make the extra attack of the Light property, you can make it as part of the Attack action instead of as a Bonus Action. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
