Lore: Int (History) of 10 to reveal the full damage the weapon can deal. Int (Arcana) of 17 to reveal the the statuses that the weapon inflicts. Identify reveals both.
Piercing damage dealt by this spear counts as magical damage. Melee attack rolls are made with a +10 to hit. When you roll a 20 on your attack roll with this spear, the target takes 4d20+20 piercing AFTER taking piercing damage from your attack.
Any target taking piercing damage from this spear suffers ALL of the following: stunned for one round upon failing a constitution save of 25; one level of exhaustion for one minute upon failing a constitution save of 20; become frightened upon failing a charisma save of 20.
The wielder of this spear may also elect to use the length of the spear to make a Bludgeoning attack. This attack deals 1d4 of Bludgeoning damage. This attack is made with only the wielder's natural proficiency and modifiers to hit and damage. This attack is unable to trigger any of the weapon's effects (only the piercing attack triggers the additional damage and statuses).
The following aspects of the weapon can only be realized through experimentation.
This weapon can only deal piercing damage to Immortals. Any mortal target attacked as if to stab will receive no piercing damage, and the attack will not trigger the additional damage or status effects of the weapon. The spear will be as if intangible to the targeted mortal, passing through harmlessly. This aspect of the spear can not be altered by any means magical or non-magical.
Proficiency with a Spear allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
