Armor (shield), rare

Appearance: A cracked shield with a grinning devil's face that glows faintly when combat begins.

Curse: Once Rupert blocks an attack with this shield, he becomes magically bound to the opponent. He gets no WIS save. The opponent rolls a WIS save to avoid the shield's curse. On a failed save, the opponent becomes bound to defeating Rupert. Neither the wielder nor the attacker can willingly disengage or retreat from combat without taking 2d10 psychic damage.

Flavor: The shield enforces a grim sense of "honor," compelling the wielder to fight until one of them falls.

Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
