Description: Zabou mushrooms are a species of fungus found in the Chultan Peninsula, particularly in the region of Chult.

These mushrooms are notorious for their toxic spores, which are released when the mushroom is disturbed.

The spores can cause severe itching and poisoning to any creature that inhales them.

Ecology: Zabou mushrooms thrive in areas rich in decaying vegetation, wood, and rotting flesh.

They are often found in dark, damp environments where such organic matter is abundant

Uses: Despite their toxicity, zabou mushrooms can be harvested carefully to avoid triggering the spore release.

If gathered successfully, they can be used as a form of projectile weapon 

When hurled at an enemy, the mushroom explodes, releasing a cloud of poisonous spores similar to a thunderstone or smokepowder.

A carefully harvested zabou mushroom is valued at around 10 gold pieces

Hazards: If disturbed, zabou mushrooms explode in a radius of 10 feet (3 meters), releasing toxic spores that can poison creatures for up to one minute.

The spores also cause itching when they come into contact with bare skin
