Wondrous Item, artifact (requires attunement by a Cleric, Druid, Monk, Paladin, Sorcerer, Warlock, Wizard, or Undead)

Yama is the goddess of Necromancy and an offspring on Achlys. This God is the walking symbolism of the undead, along with that is her signature weapon, the Magatama. These magatama are flaming hot purple beads that can be thrown offensively. In this case the Magatama are summoned from two bracers placed each wrist.

Curse of Mortality. If a living creature attunes to this item it will gain the following features.

  • The creature will age at twice the normal rate, this ignores and overrides features like Timeless Body and Longevity.
  • You emit a putrid stench noticeable from up to 10 feet away.
  • You have Vulnerability to all damage.

Boon of Undying. If an undead creature attunes to this item it will gain the following features.

  • You have Immunity to the Charmed, Frightened, and Poisoned conditions if you do not have it already.
  • While attuned to the Artifact, you regain 1d6 Hit Points at the start of each of your turns if you have at least 1 Hit Point.
  • You kill any nonmagical vegetation you touch that isn’t a creature.
  • Your appearance changes to represent features of the goddess Yama.

Soul Link. When you attune to this item you become proficient with it. You must choose a stat to link the magic to between Charisma, Intelligence, and Wisdom.

Magic Weapon. You gain a +3 bonus to attack rolls and damage rolls made with the item. It scores a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20, and deals an extra 2d10 necrotic damage to anything except undead, elementals, and constructs.

Attack. As a magic action you can make an attack with Yama's Magatama, with this you send out a spiraling purple flaming spectral magatama toward your target. You launch a Ranged Spell Attack with a range of 200/750ft. using your chosen magic modifier and proficiency bonus to hit. On a hit it deals (2d10 + your chosen modifier) necrotic damage. If one of the dice lands on a 10 the target must make a DC 18 Constitution Saving Throw, on a failed the target is poisoned for 1 minute, the target can keep making the saving throw at the end of each of its turns. If both dice land on 10, you can choose an effect from the Contagion spell (DC 18) to effect your target with, ignoring the range of the spell.

Spells. While the bracers are on your person and attuned, you can use an action to cast one of the following spells (save DC 18), ignoring material components from it: Bestow Curse, Create Undead or Finger of Death. Once you use the bracers to cast a spell, you can't cast that spell again from it until the next dawn.

Shōkyo Magatama. Charge up 3 devastating connected Magatama beads to launch and decay all in it's path. Choose a point within 200ft. to launch this attack at. Each creature in a 80-foot-radius sphere centered on that point must make a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 13d10 necrotic damage on a failed save and then must make a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or gain a level of Exhaustion, the creature will gain a level of Exhaustion at the start of every turn until it dies, it can keep making the saving throw at the end of each of it's turns. On a successful one the creature will take half damage. This ability can be used once per long rest.
