This small silver bell is unremarkable at first glance, its surface etched with faint runes that shimmer in the light. Though it appears mundane to others, the Silent Chime holds a peculiar magic: its ring is heard only by its attuned wielder. The Silent Chime of the Hunter is said to have been forged by a bounty-hunting sorcerer who sought to outwit the shadows of the Feywild. Its magic, however, carries a hint of its origins—some say a sly Fey spirit remains bound to the bell, eager to mislead a careless hunter with subtle falsehoods and riddles.
Bounty Tracker: The bell can store up to three names of individuals the wielder seeks, referred to as "bounties." These names are inscribed into the bell using a drop of ink and a small ritual taking 10 minutes. The names can be erased and replaced with a similar ritual. If a name is forgotten or a target dies, the corresponding name vanishes automatically.
Silent Ringing: When within one mile of a stored bounty, the bell begins to emit a faint ringing sound only the attuned wielder can hear. The closer the wielder gets to the target, the louder and faster the bell rings. When within 100 feet of the target, the ringing becomes an urgent hum, allowing precise tracking.
Fey Trickery: If the bell is tampered with by someone other than its attuned wielder, it rings deafeningly for all to hear until it is returned to its rightful owner.
Limitations:
The bell cannot distinguish between the bounty and someone using magical disguises or illusions to mimic them.
The bell’s magic does not work if the bounty is located in another plane of existence.
While powerful, the bell cannot differentiate intent—if the bounty is near but concealed (e.g., in a crowd or hidden room), the ringing continues, offering no additional guidance.
Notes: Bounty Hunter, Blood Hunter or Rogue
