Wondrous Item, legendary

Soul Stone (1 use per long rest)

1. Maintain Soul
If a creature dies within 30 meters of the stone, the user can use a Reaction to temporarily trap the soul in the Soul Stone. The soul remains trapped for up to 24 hours unless released or the stone is destroyed.

Duration: 24 hours

2. Voice of the Eternal Green
The Soul Stone can summon the voice of an ancient forest deity to speak through it for 1 minute. The deity answers one question with divine insight, granting guidance similar to the Divination spell.

Duration: 1 minute

3. Binding Roots

As an action, the Soul Stone can summon magical roots that erupt from the ground in a 15-meter radius. All creatures of the user’s choice must succeed on a Strength Saving Throw (DC 15) or become restrained. Restrained creatures can use their action to attempt the save again at the end of their turn.

Duration: 1 hour

4. Veil of Nature
The user can activate the Soul Stone to surround themselves and nearby allies in an illusory cloak of leaves and vines. This grants the user and allies advantage on Stealth checks and makes them invisible to creatures relying on darkvision.

Duration: 1 hour or until an attack is made.

5. Whispering Wind

The Soul Stone sends a magical message through the wind to a creature within 10 kilometers. The message is carried on the breeze and only the target can hear it.

6. Memory Grove

By planting the Soul Stone in fertile ground and performing a 10-minute ritual, the user can create a Memory Grove: an enchanted grove of trees that holds memories of the fallen. Creatures entering the grove can relive moments from the past of those who are tied to it. This can serve as a source of lore, answers, or emotional closure in a campaign.

Notes: Long ago, before civilizations carved their kingdoms into the land, there existed a sacred island known as Eldwizan, a haven untouched by mortal hands. At the heart of Eldwizan stood a colossal tree called The Soul Tree, said to be the first tree to sprout in the mortal world. Its roots stretched deep into the earth, connecting to ley lines of magical energy, while its branches touched the heavens, channeling divine wisdom. The Soul Tree was more than a tree—it was a living spirit of balance, a guardian of life and death. The balance was shattered when an ambitious adventurer named Dexter sought to harness its power. Wielding dark magic, he attempted to sever the tree's connection to the ley lines, intending to use its essence to ascend to godhood.
