Weapon (longsword), legendary (requires attunement by a Fighter, Warlock, or other martial characters with infernal ties)
The Yamato is said to be forged from a blade that once severed the barriers between dimensions. Its edge, shimmering with abyssal energy, is not merely a tool of destruction—it is a key to the spaces between worlds. The wielder must contend with the blade’s insatiable hunger for life while wielding the power to cleave both flesh and the fabric of reality itself.
Features and Abilities
Dimensional Cut
When you attack with the Yamato, you can choose to make a dimensional strike that rends through space.
Mechanics: Expend 1 charge to create a rift in space. On a hit, the target takes an additional 3d6 force damage, and creatures within 5 feet of the target must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC 16) or take half of the additional force damage.
Charges: the Yamato holds 6 charges. It regains 1d4+2 charges at dawn.
Riftwalk

The Yamato allows the wielder to step through the dimensional void, moving through space in a flash.

Mechanics: As a bonus action, expend 2 charges to teleport up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space you can see. This teleportation does not provoke opportunity attacks.

After using this ability, your movement speed becomes 0 until the start of your next turn.
Blade of the Abyss

The Yamato's edge resonates with abyssal energy, allowing you to harness its destructive nature.

Critical Hits: On a critical hit, the Yamato creates a dimensional rift. All creatures within 10 feet of the target must make a Strength saving throw (DC 16) or be pulled 10 feet toward the center of the rift and take 2d6 slashing damage.

Versatile Strike: If wielded two-handed, the Yamato's force damage increases to 2d6 instead of 1d6.
Gate of the Void

You can use the Yamato to carve a temporary portal to another location or plane of existence.

Mechanics: As an action, expend 4 charges to slash the air, creating a shimmering rift that leads to a place of your choice.

Rift Duration: The portal remains open for 1 minute or until you dismiss it as a bonus action.

Range: The destination must be one you are familiar with, or you can visualize its general location (e.g., “a safe area in Hell” or “the top of a mountain”).

Restrictions: The portal cannot open to heavily warded or divine areas without a successful Charisma check (DC 20).
Hellish Legacy

The Yamato resonates with its infernal origins, granting you additional abilities:

While attuned, you gain resistance to force damage.

You can cast Etherealness or Plane Shift (self only) once per day without expending a charge.

Judgment Cut

Skill Type: Active (Cooldown-Based)
Element: Void/Shadow
Description: Harness the void energy within the Yamato to perform a series of lightning-fast, precise slashes that tear through enemies and rip holes in the universe (space-time fabric), leaving devastating void rifts in their wake.
Skill Details:
1. Activation:

The wielder channels void energy into the Yamato, causing the blade to shimmer and distort the air around it.

A circular targeting reticle appears on the battlefield, allowing precise placement of the attack.

2. Primary Effect:

With a flash, the Yamato unleashes 3–5 instantaneous cuts within the targeted area. These cuts appear as slashes of void energy, striking enemies in a radius.

3. Void Rifts:

After each slash, a Void Rift lingers at the strike points, dealing damage over time (DoT) for 3–5 seconds to enemies caught in its zone. The rifts also pull weaker enemies slightly inward.

4. Damage Multipliers:

Initial Slashes: Scales with the wielder's combined strength ability score and attack power (STR modifier + proficiency bonus = attack power), dealing 150%–200% base damage per slash (45 to 60 HP per hit).

Void Rift DoT: Deals 25%–50% of Attack Power per second for the duration (2.5 to 5 hp).

5. Critical Bonus:

Enemies hit directly by the Judgment Cut slashes have a chance to be critically severed, doubling the Void Rift's damage against them (5 to 10 HP).

Skill Animation

Startup:
The wielder sheathes the Yamato momentarily, void energy crackling along the blade as they prepare to unleash the technique.

Execution:

The wielder draws the Yamato in one swift, fluid motion, causing the slashes to appear instantaneously.

The slashes are visible as thin, crescent-shaped distortions in the air, each emitting a faint, echoing hum.

Rift Visuals:

Void Rifts appear as glowing, purple-black tears in the fabric of reality, swirling with energy. Tiny sparks and wisps of light escape from the rifts, visually conveying their destructive potential.

Upgrades (Skill Tree Options)

1. Void Overload: Increases the number of slashes from 5 to 7 and enhances Void Rift duration by 2 seconds.

2. Spatial Mastery: Expands the targeting radius and adds a knockback effect to the initial slashes.

3. Rift Synergy: Allies gain a 10% damage boost while standing near active Void Rifts.

4. Blade of the Abyss: Judgment Cut slashes gain additional Void penetration, bypassing 30% of enemy resistances.

Cooldown

Base: 20 seconds

Upgraded: 15 seconds (with cooldown-reducing passives or equipment)
